Indian Wells is the smallest city in the valley and the one with the highest expectations. The homes behind the gates at the Vintage Club, Eldorado, Toscana and Indian Wells Country Club were built with real stone — travertine floors, marble baths, limestone entries — and the remodels we do there are mostly about bringing that stone forward: honed marble showers, book-matched slab walls, large-format porcelain where travertine used to be.

The work is detail work. Dry layouts approved before a tile is set, white mortar under light stone, sealer before grout, and a crew that shows up inside the club's contractor hours with the gate pass already arranged. We've done enough Indian Wells primary suites to know the questions before the designer asks them.

What we know

Indian Wells specifics

Club hours and gate lists

Every Indian Wells club has contractor hours, usually seven to four on weekdays and nothing on Sundays, plus a gate list and insurance on file. We schedule deliveries and demo inside those hours so the job never stalls at the guardhouse.

Stone that's thirty years old

Travertine laid in the 1990s is often hollow in spots and chipped at the edges. We lift and reset the bad pieces, re-fill and re-hone, and match new areas so the transition from old to new stone disappears.

Designers and architects welcome

A lot of Indian Wells work comes through a designer with a drawing. We work from it, flag what won't lay out as drawn before it's ordered, and send progress photos so nobody has to drive over to check.

Indian Wells FAQ

Do you install book-matched marble and large slabs in Indian Wells?

Yes. Marble shower walls, slab-look porcelain and gauged panels are the bulk of what we do in Indian Wells. Slabs are templated, dry-laid for vein matching and set with a two-person frame.

Can you work inside the clubs' contractor hours?

That's the only way to work in Indian Wells. We plan the schedule around the club's hours, keep the truck off the street and leave the site clean every afternoon.

Will the new tile match the stone in the rest of the house?

We source stone and porcelain to match what's there, lay it out dry next to the existing floor and show you before setting. Where an exact match no longer exists, we'll propose a transition that looks intentional.
